Claire and I used to work together and I admired the way she managed her teams always looking for how to help people be their best (I think this is her super power), so I then persuaded her to volunteer her time help me get Felloh off the ground.
When we were planning a two day planning workshop one of the Felloh team suggested we get Claire's input on how to get the most out of the time we had together, she helped us design a really effective two days, taking into account who was coming, making sure all voices were heard, hearing but avoiding unnecessary rabbit holes, having clear goals for the end of the time.
The result was a really productive two days where we all felt we had contributed to shaping the plan and what we have individually committed to deliver, thanks in a great part to Claire shaping the sessions for us.

I had been newly promoted into this role, in the context of a department that had been through a lot of change in the previous months, and had no Senior Leadership representative. The expectations were really high for me to contribute to stabilising the department, and creating and delivering new processes to evolve the department from start-up to business maturity.
Claire worked with me to
- Analyse the context I’m operating in, and recognise what I can and can’t control and influence.
- Get clarity around my role, expectations of me, and be clear what I’m able to deliver and my blockers
- Review where we are on the change curve as a department
- Tailor processes to move us in the right direction, but in an increment that can be easily adopted given the context
Within 5 weeks of sessions, we got a version of the ways of working that we successfully had approved by the team leads. I really didn’t think this would be possible 5 weeks ago when we started!
I have set a clear remit for my role, with what I can achieve and what’s blocking me. This has been well received in meetings with the COO. I am feeling much more confident in my role, and better able to handle the ambiguity and change I’m going through.
I really don’t know what I would have done in the last few weeks without Claire.
